Born in India from a family with long-standing musical tradition, at the age of 9  starts studying tabla under the guidance of master Dhirendra Prasad and then Professor Shymal Bose.
He graduates at Calcutta University and obtains  a diploma of music master from Bangiya Sangeet Parishad in Calcutta.
At present he works with Antonella Ruggero and  Rhythm Factory and collaborates with The Third Planet since Summer 1999
